2026 is going to be a big year for Louis Vuitton as it marks the hundred-and-thirtieth anniversary of the emblematic Monogram design. To celebrate this symbol that has defined luxury travel accessories and leather goods for over a century, the fashion house will launch a commemorative collection through three capsule releases.
Created by Georges Vuitton as a tribute to his father, the maison’s founder Louis Vuitton, the Monogram was originally made to be an anti-counterfeiting measure. But drawing inspiration from Gothic art and Japonism, the design merged the house’s travel heritage with the art world, establishing its cultural identity.

Since then, the Monogram has remained central to the house’s creative vision, and has been reinterpreted by artists and designers alike. From its historical roots to contemporary capsule collections, the pattern has seen many versions; though all act as a stamp of luxury.
Louis Vuitton’s year-long celebration officially begins on 1 January 2026, with the maison unveiling its three capsule anniversary collections. The releases will showcase both the Monogram’s iconic heritage pieces and new interpretations of the design. The anniversary will be Louis Vuitton’s main focus for 2026, reinforcing the Monogram’s position as one of the fashion world’s most recognisable and culturally significant designs.
