Who. What. Where? No. 107

Welcome to HUNGER’s Who. What. Where? Your one stop shop for all the latest and greatest upcoming cultural must-knows and tip-offs.

First up, we have a new show at the Saatchi Gallery. Entangled is a group show and explores the link between humanity and the environment (but in a cool, sexy way). Spirituality, witchcraft and sex all come into it — perhaps no more so than in Olivia Strange’s ‘Untamed’ oil painting and mushroom-boob-rock fusion sculpture, which we love. It opens on 29 March and you can find out more here.

Elsewhere in art, 180 Studios is putting on the largest exhibition to date of south London-born photographer and filmmaker Gabriel Moses. There are over seventy photos and ten films spanning his work across fashion, music and sport. Plus, most of them feature celebs like Travis Scott, Skepta and a collab with our very own Issue 33 cover star, Slawn. There’s even some never-seen-before exclusives. It opens on 28 March and you can grab a ticket here.

Since it’s the last WWW of March, we thought we’d also spotlight our fave restaurant of the month. Zapote is a Mexican hotspot located in Shoreditch, founded by Tony Geary and chef Yahir Gonzalez. Its USP? Fire-fuelled cooking, smoky flavours and shit tonnes of mezcal. And Zapote might get even better in April because they’re putting on a chocolate-centric Easter feast. Churros and margs? Delish. Book here.

Now for some music — W London (the swanky hotel in Soho) has a new live music series. AMPLIFIED spotlights emerging talent from both the local and international music scene, all from the comfort of The Perception Bar in Leicester Square. It’s headed up by DJ Jakki Degg and promises to combine a fun night out with a hot crowd. Grab a ticket to see Ciinderella Balthazar on 3 April here.

While on music, Chinese-German singer and producer Mona Yim (“Lovestruck”) has a hot new single. “Make Up” is super sassy and maybe the perfect tune to take you from swigging some pre-drinks at home to dancing at the clurb. It first premiered at Sonar Lisboa, but you can now listen to it, too — enjoy.

And, finally, finishing where we started with another expo. To Improvise a Mountain: Lynette Yiadom-Boakye Curates is a group show at the Southbank Centre. It features works hand-picked by British painter and writer Yiadom-Boakye, based on the role they’ve played in shaping her way of seeing the world. It spans historical and contemporary artists based on the “spirit of infinite knowledge […] that poetry allows us”. Erudite AF. Get a ticket here.
