Who. What. Where? No. 103

Welcome to HUNGER’s Who. What. Where? Your one stop shop for all the latest and greatest upcoming cultural must-knows and tip-offs.

First up this week we have the Brit Awards (of course). Certain winners have already been announced — Charli XCX has won Songwriter of the Year, while Sabrina Carpenter has nabbed the accolade of Global Success. The latter is also slated to perform at the ceremony, alongside Sam Fender, JADE, Teddy Swims and Myles Smith. And if that’s not enough entertainment for one evening, comedian and general posho Jack Whitehall is hosting the ceremony (for the fifth time). You can tune into red carpet live streams from 5:30pm on 1 March, or watch the awards proper kicking off at nine. Catch it on YouTube here.

Next, we’ve got a new drop from Swedish outdoorwear company, Stutterheim. The SS25 collection is all about the light and the waterproof — perfect for the decidedly confused weather we’re having in London at the moment. The new designs have got some fun features, too. Think reflective stripe detailing and dramatic silhouettes. There’s a reason Stutterheim is the OG coat brand of music big dogs like Jay Z and Robyn. Take a gander here.

Over in music, Red Bull Culture Clash is back at Drumsheds. If you’re not familiar, it takes artists from various corners of the UK music scene, who then battle it out on stage. This time round, DJ and radio host Jyoty is repping electronic, Spice Army is heading up Caribbean, Native Soundsystem (led by producer and label owner Teezee) will bring the Afrobeats and, last but not least, BBC Radio 1’s rap show host, Kenny Allstar, will bring, well, rap. Get a ticket here for 8 March.

We also have a short film to put on your radar this week. British filmmaker Greg Bushell has a powerful new short film out called Safe Light. It offers an intimate look at Ukrainian photographer Vic Bákin’s life since Russia’s full-scale invasion — its release coinciding with the three-year anniversary on 24 February. The 11-minute documentary follows Bushell’s journey to Kyiv after connecting with Bákin online and looks at how the photographer uses his craft to process the trauma of wartime reality. Watch it here.

Last up, Grammy-winning DJ and producer Michaël Brun has dropped a fresh new single. “Touchdown” draws from the artist’s Haitian background and brings together a pretty sweet lineup of artists — reggaeton star J Balvin, dancehall legends Beenie Man and Bounty Killer, plus Jamaican vocalist Tasan. The single comes off the back of Brun’s collaboration with our Issue 32 cover star John Legend on the latter’s song “Safe”, and it’s great vibes. Give “Touchdown” a listen here.
