The Goat — Featuring Aquascutum Active
First this week, it’s over to the British heritage brand Aquascutum. Relaunching in the UK under the name Aquascutum Active, their latest capsule is a little nod to what made the brand such a staple amongst British subcultures in the 80s and 90s. Featuring a whole lot of their iconic club check, it takes the form of sleek trenches, merino wool scarves and caps that you could envisage a character from Snatch wearing (in the best way possible). The standout pieces? Probably their football shirts, which feel a bit Palace-esque. On the whole it’s a collection that reminds you why the brand was so loved and adored by scooter-driving mods and fans of the casual culture back in the day. Also, there’s a dog in the campaign. Can’t go wrong with a dog. Shop here.
Next, it’s over to one of our faves — it’s only bloody Goodhood isn’t it. Everyone’s favourite concept store (dare we say East London institution) has exclusively launched Nothing’s latest collection. Nothing are, as Goodhood themselves put it, “new age tech pioneers”. Think transparent caps and lab-stroke-raincoats that look straight out of The Matrix. Sound a little intimidating? Nae bother. Goodhood have also styled all the Nothing pieces – which also includes earphones – in a very special edition of their F.I.T.S takeover, which was shot on location at Nothing’s rather futuristic looking flagship store in Soho. If you see someone at The Spurstowe wearing this exact fit, you know where they got the inspo. Have a gander here.
Jewellery now — for that, it’s over to Alighieri. The London brand (which takes its name from, you guessed it, the Italian poet Dante Alighieri) have just relaunched their Zodiac collection. Obviously, these are no run-of-the-mill necklaces with a little ode to your star sign. Available in recycled 24 karat gold-plated bronze as well as solid gold, they’re, well, beautiful. Perfect for layering, and perfect for feeling all in touch with yourself. Shop here.
Last but not least, we’ve got something rather sweet for you. JD Sports have just unveiled their Christmas campaign, and it’s called ‘Family’. Clue’s in the name with this one — featuring the biggest UK talent (think everyone from Central Cee to Maya Jama) it spotlights what family means in the here and now. There’s chosen families and those we’re related to by flesh and blood, captured everywhere from their homes to the rave. They’ve even released a little film to go alongside (watch here) which is set to a bespoke edit of Jamie XX’s “Wanna”. C’mon.
