First up, it’s over to Converse, who have joined forces with DAILY PAPER to release a collection that actually matters. Called “The Colours of Independence”, the capsule (which features everything from shoes to winter-ready liner jackets) brings a fresh perspective to the American heritage brand. The ostensible stars of the collection are DAILY PAPER’s take on the Chuck 70 and the Chuck 70 De Luxe Squared, which feature Pan-African-inspired colourways on black uppers. Think red, yellow, and green accents with quilted patterns and shield logo detailing that nod to liberation movements and cultural pride. Though we can see a fair few of you traipsing around in the sleek little matching tracksuit, we’ve also got a soft spot for that aforementioned liner jacket — watch it become a staple of London’s “It” guys and gals. You can shop the collection here.
This week, your beauty fix comes in the form of Convié’s collab with creative director and Elle writer Nellie Eden. Convié’s thing is community-built products — with each product launch, they vet and engage select members of their community to work alongside them in developing unique beauty solutions. The product birthed from that process this time round? Convié’s Glow Drops, which were celebrated through a dinner at The Camberwell Arms that was co-hosted by Eden. Half dewy primer and half liquid highlighter, their Glow Drops are the ticket to sun-kissed, healthy skin in the winter months. You know the Glow Drops are good because a whole plethora of “It” girls attended the dinner — shop here.
Next, it’s over to one of our faves: POP Trading, who’ve dropped an AW24 collection that’s full of surprises. Amsterdam’s skate-culture powerhouse are following up their global ‘POP’ video tour with a drop featuring collabs with BABY RENI (a Vietnamese-Dutch artist) and iconic graphic design studio Martens & Martens. We’ve got to give a special shout out to the BABY RENI pieces featuring glow-in-dark artwork, and we reckon the standout Martens & Martens piece is a pair of Japanese style loafers featuring some rather funky geometric embroidery. A premium off-white wool Varsity Jacket leads the outerwear offering, while Two-Tone Football Pants and Cargo Track Pants round out the seasonal essentials. Shop here (before everything sells out).
Rounding things off is a collab between Represent and END, who have launched a twelve piece capsule that takes cues from ‘90s grunge and high school rebel culture. The collection delivers aged-out staples like bomber jackets and bias-cut flannel shirts that would make Kurt Cobain proud. Think utility details and washed-enzyme cotton as well as sneakers made of the kind of leather that will age like your favourite punk records. Another standout comes in the form of baggy denim jeans featuring heavy whiskering and repair details. Best of all, everything features subtle co-branding — something of a welcome change considering designers can get a little heavy handed with logos and the like. To peruse the collection, head here.
