TASAKI is proving that luxury knows how to party
If there’s one thing that’ll get London’s cool crowd out on a Thursday night, it’s the promise of diamonds and pearls. TASAKI delivered both in spades, bringing their spectacular ‘Floating Shell’ exhibition to Selfridges’ Wonder Room with a bash that proved luxury doesn’t have to play it safe.
The guestlist was, to put it simply, just as starry as the jewellery itself. Gemma Chan was there, dripping in the anniversary collection’s pearls and diamonds, while Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan looked stunning in TASAKI Atelier Waterfall pieces. The show’s next star, Yerin Ha, even made an appearance, adorned in TASAKI’s modern take on pearls.
But it’s not just about the pretty faces. The exhibition, which has been touring the world’s style capitals throughout 2024, showcases why TASAKI has spent 70 years at the forefront of pearl innovation. Alongside their signature pieces, they’re debuting collaborations that prove pearls aren’t just for your grandmother’s jewellery box — think ASICS trainers and EYEVAN eyewear, each incorporating the brand’s iconic Akoya pearls.
The pop-up, running until January 5th, offers a rare chance to shop these innovative pieces, including new additions to their ‘balance’ series. And if the opening night’s anything to go by – DJ Fiona Jane soundtracked the night, by the way –TASAKI’s next 70 years are set to be just as revolutionary as their first.
