Who. What. Where? No. 107

Welcome to HUNGER’s Who. What. Where? Your one stop shop for all the latest and greatest upcoming cultural must-knows and tip-offs.

Mercury is officially out of retrograde and spring is here, which means we can stop being scared of the outside world and frolic around the city to our heart’s content! The first place we’ll be going is to the 247 (the performance-wear arm of Represent) pop-up in Soho, which opens today in celebration of the brand’s first womenswear collection. Comprising fourteen garms spanning sports bra and leggings to jackets, the drop is designed to be worn both in the gym and as streetwear thanks to the lux fabrics and hot silhouettes (see for yourself here). The pop-up will be on Brewer Street for three weeks — go check it out.

Another one centred around the girls is a new expo at the Serchia Gallery in Bristol called As It Was, So it Is. It’s headed up by British-Hungarian artist Yulia Mahr and explores female experiences through sculpture, photography and installation. Specifically, it covers women being forgotten figures, the post-partum body and the concept of mutability. It’s a lovely little blend of social science and art, and we think you’ll love it.

Speaking of blends, a new documentary from DJ-kit brand AlphaTheta called We Become One is combining electronic music with science. Essentially, Berlin-based DJ Kikelomo goes and chats to various psychologists and neuroscientists about the benefits that music has on our brains and community building. It features loads of artists, like Moodymaan and Seth Troxler, and is filmed across five countries. Everything is squeezed into an hour, though, so your attention span can probably handle it. Elsewhere in DJ land, the US-based DJ Python has dropped his debut EP, i was put on this earth, which marks his first solo release in three long years. It includes five tracks and features London MC Jawnino on “Dai Buki”, which was written and recorded in east London. There’s also a track featuring Honduran singer Isabella Lovestory called “Besos Robados”, which we’re big fans of. Check out i was put on this earth here.

In the same vein, rave season is coming and you’ll be needing some new sunnies, won’t you? Enter Ace & Tate’s SS25 collection. This launch from the Dutch eyewear brand is all about the simple pleasures of summer (hence why the campaign is shot in OG holiday destination Tenerife). The pieces themselves are a bit of a time capsule — kind of a mixture of ’90s cool, ’50s retro and the free-spirited vibes of the ’70s. The brand’s founder describes the collection as sitting somewhere between cult films Notting Hill and The Matrix, and that feels about right to us. Take a gander here.

Another fashion moment we wanted to put on your radar is E.L.V. Denim’s first ever bricks-and-mortar store, which can be found at 59 Great Portland Street from today until 21 June. An extension of their east London showroom, you’ll be able to browse all E.L.V.’s signature denim pieces, their ready-to-wear collection and even a selection of upcycled garms. Even better, you can work with the brand’s team of stylists to find your perfect pair of staple jeans. And, since E.L.V. is all about community, the pop-up will host a range of events from champagne tastings to short film screenings and book readings. Now, that’s a bit of us.

If a glass of champagne is also a bit of you (and you want to really treat yourself), Mayfair’s best Greek restaurant, GAIA, has a new all-day dining concept to honour the extra sunlight we’re getting thanks to British Summer Time. Serving food from midday to (almost) midnight, you can enjoy a leisurely late lunch or some fancy, post-drinks scran (they also have a stunning drinks menu themselves, if you’re interested). Food-wise, though, GAIA’s star dish is the Sea Bass Ceviche and, trust us, you’re going to want to find out why. GAIA is upmarket but beautiful and breezy — maybe just perfect? Book a table here.

Over in Camden, there’s a new expo celebrating out-there South Asian artists. Titled Rapture, the exhibition is all about the joy of unbridled creative expression. It’s curated by TV personality Ryan Lanji (from Netflix’s Flower Fight) and includes works from the likes of Babbu the Painter and Girth of Venus. It’s bright, beautiful and the perfect little stop-off for a spring day. Take a wander down to 216 Camden High Street for a looksie. More info here.

A bit further afield, Under Armour is debuting its latest sportswear collection at Milan Design Week in collaboration with plant-based clothing brand Unless. The immersive experience is taking place at Fuorisalone between now and tomorrow and gives an insight into the regenerative power of plants, which form an essential part of the Unless’s sustainable fabrics — as well as the Under Armour x Unless collab. Pretty sick if you ask us. More info here.
