The Goat — Featuring Merrell

Welcome to HUNGER’s The Goat, where we let you in on all the hottest drops and new releases. Less hype, more the things you actually need on your radar. This one’s an extended edition too — it’s nearly Christmas after all.

Kicking things off this week, we have Merrell’s Moab 2 Slide Quilted SE. If you aren’t familiar with Merrell, the shoe brand sits on that part of the ven diagram where fashion and practicality cross over. On the one hand, they make some of the sturdiest outdoor treads on the market. On the other, their products look bloody cool. The Moab 2 Slide Quilted SE, though, is undoubtedly Merrell’s new hero product. The shoes have got that fashion-y look (à la Shoreditch) with their quilted exterior, but are also uber practical thanks to their slip-on style. Plus they’re (recycled) fleece-lined to keep your tootsies warm in winter. Practical, fashionable and sustainable. Grab yours here.

Next up, we have a new collaboration between umbrella connoisseurs Original Duckhead and the Japanese outdoor-wear brand, Nanga, in the form of – you guessed it – a limited-edition umbrella. Now, we know what you’re thinking — umbrellas? Well, that’s exactly the point. This one isn’t a tatty bit of metal and plastic you’ll accidentally leave under a table somewhere. Nope, this is as much of an accessory to be proud of as it is practical. First off, the Original Duckhead x Nanga umbrella features the former brand’s signature (and adorable) duck-head handle, meanwhile, its tribute to the latter comes via the umbrella case, which is reminiscent of Nanga’s down-filled sleeping bags. Cosy AF. Shop here.

From umbrellas to upmarket bags — Dior’s new D-Journey is going to make handbag fans think Christmas has come early. Unfortunately it’s kind of the opposite — the D-Journey doesn’t actually drop until January, but we thought we’d put it on your radar nonetheless. So, what do we know about it? It was dreamed up by the brand’s creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, and previewed at the Dior spring-summer 2025 ready-to-wear show. Appearance-wise, the D-Journey has a relaxed and spacious silhouette with a practical zip and gold hardware. It also comes in a variety of sizes and materials (the graphic monogram is probably our fave), plus it can be worn either as a short crossbody or shoulderbag. Stay tuned for this one.

Something you can get your hands on now, though, is the latest UGG x Palace collection. It’s actually the third time the shoe and skater brands have collaborated,  but the first time they’ve brought out apparel alongside their boot and shoe offerings. The hero product? A suede jacket that takes UGG’s shearling lining and adds Palace’s character with bold embroidery. It’s fair to say, though, that the collection as a whole isn’t shy when it comes to a pattern. From yin-yang symbols to tigers to dragons, the designs really speak for themselves. Shop them here.

In further fashion news, Les Benjamins has a brand new capsule collection in store. It’s actually the Istanbul-based brand’s ninth capsule drop but, this time, they’re returning to their streetwear roots. Think polos, zip necks, trackies — even sweater vests you can coordinate or wear alone for a pop of colour. Plus, the Essentials 9.0  collection absolutely oozes comfort. After all, versatility is probably the best thing about Les Benjamins. So, if you’re looking for a brand that’ll take you from the city to the ski chalet this Christmas, you’re going to want to have a gander. Shop the collection here.

Last up, we have a very special collaboration between ‘modern heirloom’ brand Alighieri and The British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS), which is an independent healthcare charity that advocates and cares for women seeking abortion care. The collection – aptly named Offerings of Love – comprises ultra-unique jewellery and ornaments hand-crafted in London’s Hatton Garden. There are necklaces, candlestick holders, trinket trays and even a cutlery set — and believe us when we say they’re beautiful. The best part, though, is that Alighieri is donating ten percent of all online sales in December to BPAS. Shop the collaboration here.
