In photos: Greentea Peng and Goya Gumbani at Project House

Photographer Devon Chambers captures the artists’ psychedelic sets at Leeds’ coolest music venue.

If you think London is the culture capital of the UK you’re not exactly wrong, but you are a bit, because the North can do it too. You might have seen our photo story on Leeds’ student scene, which proves the kids are having just as much (perhaps more) fun in Leeds’ Hyde Park than London’s measly counterpart. But it’s not just student basement flats up North, oh no! Leeds is also home to a properly vibrant music scene. That includes none other than Project House, a 16,000 square foot former tile warehouse that’s been transformed into a social club, music hall, skate store and party space.

Photographer Devon Chambers was there the night songstress Greentea Peng brought her soul-soaked psychedelic vibes, supported by none other than south London-based artist Goya Gumbani. From Peng’s performance of her much-loved track “Mr. Sun.” to Gumbani’s raw and rhythmic set, here’s a snippet of the transcendental experience that went down at Project House.
