The best looks from Milan Fashion Week Men’s FW 26/27

The opening week of Fashion Month was all about the renaissance of the gentleman.

The curtain has fallen on Milan Fashion Week, which wrapped up on Monday after three days where all eyes were on men. This one was about a man with no fear of stepping outside his comfort zone. A fearless man who embraces his masculinity in a non-conformist way, yet never ceases to be a gentleman.

Silhouettes were exaggerated — at Dsquared2 there were massive puffers and oversized parkas channelling après-ski, but made sexy. Meanwhile, at Prada, streamlined garments were elongated, mimicking design elements of antiquity and the Renaissance, reworked through a contemporary lens.

Technique wasn’t neglected either. At Setchu, designer Satoshi Kuwata drew inspiration from the rugged landscapes of Greenland, translating it with structural precision into multi-functional outerwear. As for accessories? Styling was enriched with an array of adornments, including crystal-laden brooches and supple leather clutch bags, while at Ralph Lauren, models sported ballet flats. It was a refreshing season that could make you think that, perhaps, chivalry isn’t dead after all.
