VISUAL NOISE: Celebrating the photographers whose graduating shows were disrupted due to Covid-19

Join us for a weekend of celebration of the photography voices of the future!

MARYLAND STUDIO is launching a new art fair, VISUAL NOISE, to celebrate the talented photographers whose graduating shows were disrupted or cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In what will be the first art fair dedicated solely to the nation’s emerging photography talent, MARYLAND STUDIO will be showcasing 40 of the UK’s 2020-2022 graduating class of photographers, including both BA and MA students.  Ranging from performance and collage to editorial and film, each photographer has been granted free reign over a 6ft x 6ft space to display their work.

MARYLAND STUDIO opened up applications to any graduate from a UK-based university that was enrolled on a photography or photography related course. Their only request was to “be creative” and submit work that the studio had not seen before — and the artists delivered. After receiving an unprecedented amount of submissions from a diverse array of applicants, the studio was left with a group of photographers who are exploring everything from their personal lives to dysphoric approaches to contemporary culture‭ and art history‭.

VISUAL NOISE at MARYLAND STUDIO will be running on Saturday 9th April and Sunday 10th April. Tickets include general admission and student admission and are priced respectively at £12 and £9. Each ticket allows single entry to the fair between 10 am and 6 pm. You can purchase them, here.
