The Insta-artist blending magic realism and dance to know
Beauty in distortion.
Bold, colourful and experimental, collage artist Franziska Barczyk’s Dadaism-inspired works are a form of social commentary. “I like to incorporate a feeling of chance,” the German-Hungarian, Toronto-based creative tells HUNGER. “I’m interested in exploring relationships, connections, identity formation and dance. To me these topics all relate to freedom; being able to choose a lifestyle, partners and how one portrays themselves.” The result is a surreal aesthetic, combined with observations of real people, conversations, architecture and movement.
