Grow Your Glow — The style workshop for queer professionals you need to know about

The masterclass from Darkwah and Dom Crystal is about gaining confidence from the outside in.

Studies have shown that what you wear can improve your productivity by twenty-five percent. They’ve also concluded that only thirty-five percent of LGBTQ+ people feel safe being themselves at work. Combine those statistics and you have a whole lot of queer people not thriving in their workplace as much as their cishet counterparts. That’s why creators and fashion gurus Darkwah and Dom Crystal are putting on a confidence workshop for the community in partnership with Blossom LGBT.

If you’re not familiar with the duo, Darkwah and Crystal have worked with brands like Urban Decay, Marc Jacobs Fragrances and McQueen to promote positive change for the queer community. This new endeavour, then, is about helping LGBTQ+ professionals gain confidence through self-expression in fashion and beyond. Specifically, the four-hour event includes a masterclass in styling, new professional headshots and talks on self-confidence, as well as a safe space to connect with other queer professionals.

Essentially, Grow Your Glow is more than a workshop in fashion. It’s about gaining confidence from the outside in. As Darkwah put it, “this isn’t just about looking good. It’s about reclaiming your space, expressing your truth and learning how to walk into any room as your full self.” So, as well as gaining a new set of headshots and style ideas, attendees are also guaranteed to leave the workshop with “a serious confidence upgrade” — or a physical and mental glow-up, if you will.

Grow Your Glow takes place on Friday 19 July at 100 Shoreditch, and you can get a free ticket here.
