Ben Prince captures quiet queer rebellion on film
Quiet queer rebellion, captured in film’s gentle folds.

My work reflects a personal reclamation of romanticism through queer intimacy, softness, and gaze. Using analogue film as a medium of slowness, I explore how the male body can be both erotic and innocent, assertive and delicate. In contrast to the rigid norms of masculinity, I aim to create tender disruptions — quiet rebellions in bed, in gardens, in silence. In my portraits I want to capture moments of stillness where longing and uncertainty quietly coexist, a stillness that echoes through the queer experience and the figures I return to again and again.
