The olfactory aficionados among you might recall Coty’s 120th anniversary collection, Infiniment Coty Paris, which made waves across the perfume pond back in 2024. Now, the Paris-born, New-York-bred brand is back, introducing three new intense scents to the collection. Named the Les Osmiums capsule, they promise to be the brand’s boldest perfumes yet as, and we quote, “olfactory density is pushed to the extreme”.
The previous Infiniment collection saw each scent assigned to a specific emotion, the brand having worked with neuroscientists to measure the pleasurable effects of the scents on the body, and ensure their titles were right on the nose. The Les Osmiums capsule reinvents the (scientifically-proven) most erotic scents from the collection — the three ambers — and ups the intensity. The result is seduction on steroids, kind of like the legendary Sex Panther cologne from Anchorman, but with notes of amber and vanilla instead of big cats and gasoline. Who said science isn’t sexy?
Les Osmiums also recycle the ‘Molecular Aura’ perfumers Sue Nabi and Nicholas Vu developed for the original collection — the scientific key to fragrance that will smell exactly the same from sunrise to sunset. Simply put, they use a sugar-derived molecule that controls exactly how different ingredients interact and evaporate. Alongside this cutting-edge technology, Nabi and Vu also pay homage to the brand’s original perfumer, Dominique Vernaz. The new scents revive Vernaz’s infamous amber base, ‘Ambréine S’, originally created in 1905, but up the intensity to 41 percent. Et voilà, we’re left with three of the most hypnotic trifecta of perfumes the brand has ever created.
As for the specifics: L’Amour Pourpre L’Osmium is lifted with aromatic lavender, while Encore Une Fois L’Osmium is enriched with the confidence to go “one more time” with vanilla and frankincense. Après L’Amour L’Osmium, the most seductive of them all, has notes of tobacco and spices, evoking that ‘cigarettes after sex’ feeling. As for the collection’s name? That comes from the cobalt blue cap, inspired by the world’s most dense and rare precious metal in the world, osmium. The scents, like the alloy, are rich and impossible to replicate — simply one of a kind.
