Who. What. Where? No. 91

Welcome to HUNGER’s Who. What. Where? Your one stop shop for all the latest and greatest upcoming events and cultural fixes.

Christmas is right round the corner. Whether that leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy inside or incites existential dread, you can make everything feel a wee bit better by going a bit mental with your wrapping paper. Where are we going with this? KFC have just unveiled the lickable kind as part of a collab with artist SOLDIER. It’s designed by SOLDIER (who hails from Lagos, and is part of the same lil’ crew as Slawn) and it’s in celebration of KFC’s new Christmas Stuffing Stacker Burger, which, yes, the paper actually tastes like. Think hints of cranberry and sage, brought to life by SOLDIER’s playful illustrations of silhouettes that take cues from a project he did for Glastonbury earlier this year. It’s one to watch your grandparents go feral over on the big day — viral videos pending.

Something a little different now. Over in Shoreditch (by the station, to be exact) they have unveiled a massive mural of rapper Central Cee as part of his collab with G-SHOCK. Made by the team at Global Street Art (they did a mural for the video game Diablo IV in Old Street recently) and The Media Angel, it’s something all you Cench fans need to check out and throw up on the ol’ Insta story. BTS of the whole thing coming together below.

In terms of music to have on your radar this week, first up it’s over to Eades. The Northeners, who dropped their EP ‘Fight or Flight’ back in August, are in the big smoke this Saturday to headline FRMTN Fest, which is being held at LVLS in Hackney Wick. Expect classically Eades lo-fi charm, 90s-esque guitars and, well, raw energy. Other plans this weekend? Luckily, the fivesome are embarking on a UK tour early next year. Tickets here

We’ve also got to spotlight singer Yazmin Lacey, who just dropped a new track called “The Feels”. It’s hard to describe Lacey’s sound, but we can tell you that it traverses a whole lot of genres — there’s flecks of soul, reggae and electronica in there, and “The Feels” is a continuation of that, brought to a whole new level by the singer’s introspective lyricism. Also, the video is sick. Watch below.

Last but not least, we’ve got an event for all of you who aren’t quite ready to hunker down (and be boring) ahead of Crimbo. This Saturday, Skin on Skin will be performing at Archives in Tottenham Hale. Not familiar with Skin on Skin? Think techno infused with hip-hop and drill. When I popped on “Burn Dem Bridges” at the office last week, someone requested that I turn it off as it made them feel like they were at Berghain. In other words, it will be a great night out.
