Who. What. Where? No. 86

Welcome to HUNGER’s Who. What. Where? Your one stop shop for all the latest and greatest upcoming events and cultural fixes.

Are you a fan of whipping your hair back and forth? If so, brace yourself. Spotify and Acne Studios are orchestrating a harmony of sound and style, with WILLOW set to headline their inaugural collaboration at London’s iconic Hackney Church. Not only will the gig mark WILLOW’s European debut, but the first live performance of her deluxe album ‘Empathogen’. Fans who RSVP first can even snag themselves a limited edition Acne Studios x Spotify x WILLOW tee — the kind of esoteric collectible that’ll vanish post-event. It’s a treat for WILLOW’s most devoted, as London boasts the most streams globally outside LA. Head to Spotify’s Instagram and keep your eyes peeled for updates.

Music lovers, mark your calendars — Homobloc, Manchester’s vibrant festival of sound and inclusivity, is set to light up Depot Mayfield this November for the fifth time round. Headlining the fruity sonic spectacle is Rahim Redcar (formerly Christine and the Queens), with a supporting cast that’ll make your playlist jealous. Shygirl’s bringing her Club Shy project, COBRAH’s making her Manchester debut, and Olof Dreijer (one half of the Swedish electronic music duo The Knife) will be showcasing his signature sounds. Homobloc sprawls across six stages, from the main Depot to the intimate rooftop Loft. You can expect a smorgasbord of genres (everything from experimental pop to techno is on the menu) and a blend of both established and rising LGBTQ+ talents. Fancy joining? Grab a ticket here (and start planning your outfit).

Music aficionados, pencil this one in your diaries. Chaos In The CBD, those Kiwi brothers who’ve become London’s adopted darlings, are set to shake the foundations of the iconic Roundhouse on October 19th. It’s their sole London headline club show of 2024, and they’re pulling out all the stops. For the first time, they’ll be gracing this hallowed London institution with a marathon 6-hour All Day Long set. Since swapping New Zealand’s music scene for London’s bustling beats, these lads have left their mark on every venerated venue from Corsica Studios to The Cause. Now, they’re ready to pen a love letter to the city that’s embraced them, one track at a time. Fancy getting involved? Grab your tickets and don’t forget to stretch – it’s going to be a loooooong day of dancing.
