Who. What. Where? No. 110

Welcome to HUNGER’s Who. What. Where? Your one stop shop for all the latest and greatest upcoming cultural must-knows and tip-offs.

It’s (almost) festival season, baby. So, how better to start this week’s WWW than with Portugal’s finest, LISB-ON. If you live under a rock, LISB-ON is a festival where people come and spend a weekend partying to electronic music of all varieties (disco, house, techno, you name it). They just announced their final line-up for this year — which includes electro big dogs ANOTR, Ben Böhmer, Maceo Plex and Dennis Cruz — and it’s going to be a blast. Check out tickets here.

Over in art, we have Saatchi Yates’s upcoming May exhibition. The American painter, Peter Saul, is exhibiting a load of his works from the ’60s through to 2024. For anyone unfamiliar with Saul, he’s all about blending cartoons and razor-sharp wit to come up with social commentaries on whatever is going on around him. This time round, though, he’s specifically taking a piss-takey (and somewhat meta) look into how art is consumed these days. It’s going to be a treat for the eyes and brain cogs. The expo opens on 1 May and you can get more info here.

Fashion-wise this week, we have a special pop-up from womenswear designer and friend of HUNGER, Nikeen Asar. Remember how ASAR branched out from wedding dresses to eveningwear recently? Well, the London-based brand has expanded once again to create a line of stunning heels for SS25. They’re going to launch this Friday and Saturday at the ASAR Studios, where you’ll also find a curated collection of vintage denim to pair with your new stompers. See you there? Get more info here.

Lastly, we have one for the Birkenstock lovers (also known as east Londoners). ‘Birkenstock: Your Blank Canvas’ is a series of craft-led workshops put on in partnership with the Crafts Council, which will take place monthly April through August in the Birkenstock Studio (the brand’s first ever community space in Shoreditch). What do you do there, you ask? Up-cycling and turning your Birkenstocks into the talk of the town, that’s what. If you fancy a whirl, you can book a ticket here.
