Check out HUNGER’s top photoshoot location in LA

Come behind the scenes at Zappanest, HUNGER’s hottest shoot location.

Looking for a space for your next creative retreat? Former home of rock legend Frank Zappa has become a HUNGER staple. Situated on Woodrow Wilson Drive, nestled into the Hollywood Hills, this 1930’s hideaway is the ultimate multidisciplinary creative hub.

The four bedroom home has recently been revamped with the help of furniture company Original in Berlin, who’ve effortlessly blended the property’s original mid-century charm with ‘70s accents as an ode to Zappa’s heyday.

Each room has its own atmospheric colour scheme and unique vibe, making it the perfect location for anyone planning multiple shoots within a short time frame. One of the bedrooms has a seductive deep red wall, while one of the larger boudoirs is shrouded in a more understated navy, allowing the built-in brick fireplace to be the star of the show.

The kitchen is covered in an ambient green, like in that Architectural Digest video of Dakota Johnson’s beautiful home, minus the plate of limes. The cherry on top, however, is the dreamy pool, complete with a chic, super minimalist patio.

Zappanest doesn’t just make for a great shooting space, though. The singer’s original recording studio is also available for hire. The Utility Muffin Research Kitchen is about as quirky and charming as the name would suggest, featuring parquet wooden floors, vintage artwork and Persian rugs, making it a glamorous but cosy space perfect for brainstorming your next big hit. It’s got the Lady Gaga seal of approval, too, having been bought by the singer in 2016, if you weren’t sold already.
