Everything we know about ‘Black Mirror’ season 6, starring Salma Hayek
It’s been nearly four years since Black Mirror creators Charlie Brooker and Anabel Jones have blessed us with new episodes of the series, with season five released in June 2019. Brooker has said in interviews that he decided to take a break from working on writing the new season amidst the pandemic, saying it would be “too depressing” for audiences at the time – and he was probably right.
But now, it’s been revealed that season six will be hitting our screens incredibly soon after a new trailer gave fans a glimpse into the new batch of episodes. But what can we expect from the upcoming sixth series? Here’s everything we know so far…
The trailer gives us a glimpse at what we can expect from the new episodes as we see Aaron Paul explore a space station, an eerie flashy smiling face, Zazie Beetz using dial-up internet, Paapa Essiedu clad in a fluffy white parka, and plenty of tech going awry (obviously).
Some other faces that popped up in the trailer include Ben Barnes, Josh Hartnett, Rory Culkin, Kate Mara and Himesh Patel, to name a few. Excitingly, Michael Cera will also be making an appearance in what we imagine to be a rare dramatic role for the internet’s favourite star.
Danny Ramirez, John Hannah, Rob Delaney, Myha’la Herrold, Anjana Vasan, Auden Thornton, Clara Rugaard, Daniel Portman, Monica Dolan and Samuel Blenkin will also star.
Currently, there has been no confirmation on just how many episodes we’ll be getting of the dystopian thriller in series 6. Previous seasons have had just three episodes, while others have had six. So, let’s just keep our fingers crossed there’s as much for us to binge as possible.
According to the teaser trailer, the new season will drop on Netflix in June. Now, we don’t have a definite date just yet, but the fact that it’s only a little over a month away means we don’t have long to wait until we all start giving Siri the side-eye again.
