Yazmin Lacey drops the titular track on her upcoming album ‘Teal Dreams’

The artist’s sophomore album comes out on 24 October.

You may already know that Yazmin Lacey is dropping a second album, Teal Dreams, on 24 October via AMF Records, which follows on from the success of Voice Notes from 2023. Now, the Nottingham-based artist has released the album’s titular track, ‘Teal Dreams’, which derives from a spontaneous trip to Thailand and taps into personal storytelling in a new way for the artist.

She’s already released two other singles from the sophomore record, the first being Two Steps — a track that blends Spanish guitar and a hypnotic bassline from Miles James, Little Simz’s producer). While the other, Ain’t I Good For You, marks a cheeky new edge to the artist’s discography with its bold lyrics and soulful R&B.

If these singles are anything to go by, Teal Dreams will mark a real shift in the artist’s evolution — something she’s been honing from her Nottingham debut. She’s played headline shows at Village Underground and KOKO, made appearances on Strictly Come Dancing and BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge with Ezra Collective and played Glastonbury. Teal Dreams is the next chapter and, already, we can see it’s going to be Lacey at her best yet.
