Austin Butler looks unrecognisable as he debuts a bald look for ‘Dune: Part 2’
Much to the delight of hardcore Austin Butler fans, the first official trailer for Dune: Part 2 is out – and it didn’t disappoint. The sci-fi sequel sees Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya back as Paul Atreides and Chani, respectively, as Butler fans are quick to point out the change of appearance in the preview.
The talk of Twitter is the first look at both Austin Butler and Florence Pugh, who are newcomers to the epic sequel. Butler’s first full appearance sees the Elvis actor take on the role of remorseless warlord Feyd-Rautha, as the trailer reveals his silhouette and shaved head. Feyd-Rautha is the evil nephew of Baron Harkonnen (played by Stellan Skarsgård) and the brother of Glossu Rabban (played by Dave Bautista). The two brothers are in competition to become the successor of the Harkonnen family on the planet Arrakis.
The first teaser for the trailer was revealed by the director Denis Villeneuve earlier this month and only showed Butler’s character from behind, slowly fading from his bald head into the distance. Now, however, we get a full-blown front angle of the new look, and fans are both equally delighted as they are scared of the new character. It seems Butler’s followers are collectively deciding it is better to wait for the press tour before they judge too harshly on his lack of brows.
As Pugh takes on the role of Princess Irulan, she will be joined by a star-studded cast list including Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Christopher Walken as Emporer Shaddam IV, and Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot. Dune: Part 2 is slated to hit screens on the 3rd of November.
