Who. What. Where?

UK rap pioneer Lord Apex has just revealed the title track to his upcoming debut album, The Good Fight, produced by iconic US producer Madlib. The production from Madlib is typically layered with hard-hitting drum patterns, providing the perfect canvas for Apex to lay down a trademark dose of substantial, high-grade lyricism. Lyrically, Apex focuses on displaying what The Good Fight actually means for him; his story so far of work, hustle, smoke and “making art so the kids can keep vibing.” In preparation for the album’s release on November 10th, you can now listen to ‘The Good Fight’ below.
This November, Saatchi Yates is presenting a debut solo exhibition by Spanish artist Elena Garrigolas, featuring 17 new bewildering works. The artist’s works take inspiration from dreamscapes, internet culture, and personal experiences, twisting banal scenes into outlandish self-portraits. After growing up in a religious family and attending Catholic School, Garrigolas was encouraged to suppress her feelings; in retaliation, her artistry confronts those traumatic experiences and inner vulnerabilities. “When I paint, I can choose what to show, and it’s a way of healing,” Garrigolas says of her art. Garrigola’s debut exhibition at Saatchi Yates will be available to view from November 1st until December 22nd.
Next, we have British-Nigerian multidisciplinary artist Yinka Ilori, who has announced the latest drop from his designer object brand, Yinka Ilori Objects (YIO). The drop, titled ‘Ojukokoro’, is made up of vibrant limited-edition basketball designs and corresponding T-shirts, guided by the themes of love, joy, memory, and dreaming. Through his bold and playful designs, the collection celebrates the power of beauty and storytelling, with each object influenced by Ilori’s identity and dual heritage. YIO’s Ojukokoro drop is now available to shop here, with additional collections from the brand set for release in early 2024.

As the clocks turn back and the days get shorter, there’s no better time to indulge in some self-care. So, how does an Ayurvedic Hair ritual sound? Well, lucky for you, Bourii founder Shirin Van Lare will be bringing the new treatment to London-based sustainable salon Buller and Rice this November. The process starts with a short consultation to determine the client’s Dosha (energies that determine a person’s makeup), then Lare will begin with a relaxing marma point massage on the face, head and neck. A Dosha-specific Bourii oil will then be applied to the scalp and hair with a head massage alongside the upper back, arms, and hands to alleviate the stress that day-to-day and modern lifestyles can leave muscles of the face, neck and shoulders. So, if you’re looking to loosen up, head down to Buller and Rice’s store and try out the treatment for yourself.
