The Muse: Meet Faith Lynch, the rising model to watch this Fashion Week
Hey Faith! How were you discovered? Was modelling something you’d always been interested in pursuing?
I was discovered at the age of 16 at a Wiz Khalifa concert in The Woodlands, Texas! I was caught off guard at first and didn’t expect much to happen. I’m so grateful for the opportunity! It was never in my mind that I could be a model not to mention make a career out of it. But now that I am in the business, I realize it is exactly what I am supposed to be doing. Its creative, expressive and global. I love it!! If I wasn’t modeling I’d probably be in college studying human anatomy and physiology to be a trainer for professional sports teams.
What do you love / miss most about Texas?
I moved around a lot growing up. I was only living in Texas for about two years. In those two years I feel in LOVE with the southern culture, the soul, the style (shockingly). It was so different from other places I had lived. I appreciated those differences and it really felt like home.
What has been a career highlight for you so far since you started modelling last year?
My career highlight has definitely got to be my Marc Jacobs Daisy Fragrance campaign and being exclusive Miu Miu as my FIRST fashion week runway moment, ever! They were both pinch me moments.
What would you like to see more of in fashion?
The fashion industry is ever changing, especially nowadays. The changes we are seeing today are long overdue. The representation of different shapes, sizes, colors, styles is so necessary and important. I love that this is happening more and more. I love that brands recognize the importance of this and are more inclusive. Also, I think brands today are more socially conscious. I want to see more brands and people in fashion using their platform for the greater good. Celebrating diversity and giving back to those in need.
And what would you like to see less of?
I’m so over the tiny sunglasses trend right now. Ha!
What’s the film that shaped you the most and why?
I was a big Disney fan as a kid and I also loved Lord of The Rings. But I would say music had a greater influence than film did growing up.
You’re also a singer – how would you describe your music in three words?
I am still developing my sound but for right now I would say sultry, inspirational, souful.
I love blues and jazz. I like evoking emotion thorough lyrics and melodies.
What does beauty mean to you?
For me it’s being comfortable in your own skin and glowing with confidence.
Who is your ultimate style icon and why?
Blake Lively! She’s got such a chic & sexy style that looks so easy & I admire it!
How would you describe your personal style in three words?
Effortless, Feminine, Flirty.
You five fashion week essentials you carry with you?
Lip balm is #1, a bottle of water and/or a little snack, my phone so I know where I’m going, my book, and a hair tie! Super simple & super easy.
What emerging fashion brands are you really excited about right now?
The one quote you live your life by?
“Sunshine comes to all who feel the rain.”
What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I used to be extremely shy! Not so much anymore.
The future of fashion – in one word?
The future of fashion is “Un-imaginable.”
