MSCHF just dropped the Big Black Boot

The internet-breaking boot is officially back in a subtler colourway…

The Big Red Boot has seen numerous iterations since it first dropped in the February of 2023. There have been Timberland collaborations, a Croc hybrid, and even fan-modified versions inspired by Chrome Hearts. The latter was easily the best received by the hype community, who called the matte black pair complete with silver jewelled crosses “fashion gold.”

Clearly, MSCHF listened to the responses, because they have now dropped a pair in a full black rubber finish. They debuted on the Instagram of content creator Javel Berlin, and have been officially confirmed by the brand. There is no additional information about the release, but the assumption is that they will retail for the same price of $350 as the Big Red Boot which has been restocked in all sizes again two weeks ago.

Berlin wore his new BBBs with some oversized denim jorts, which seem to be the go-to styling choice for MSCHF’s shoes. Others, like MeLoveMeALot who created the fan-modified unofficial Chrome Hearts boots, paired hers with a tiny bikini and oversized angel wings.

Many weren’t fans of the footwear to begin with, claiming that fashion had gone too far with cartoon-like boots. But evidently, there is an audience for the boot and perhaps MSCHF’s new black colourway will cater to those keen for a subtler approach.
