MSCHF and Crocs reveal new collab – and it’s more ridiculous than you can imagine

We have barely recovered from the storm that was MSCHF’s Big Red Boot. The internet was alight with the infamous cartoonish shoe – and now Crocs have joined the party just to add a sprinkling of more controversy into the mix.
Though not yet named, this Big Yellow Boot was debuted by Tommy Cash at Rick Owens’ SS24 presentation at Men’s Paris Fashion Week. The rapper dressed as a Parisian mime, complete with face paint, a moustache, a beret, a stripy shirt, an umbrella hat (?!), and matching yellow suspenders. Albeit an interesting look, no one was really looking at his fit, because they couldn’t keep their eyes off *those* boots.
The boots themselves are everything the Big Red Boot is in silhouette, but feature the signature Croc holes on the toe and band around the back, which is constantly in sports mode. The footwear lovechild perfectly encompasses both brands’ DNA, with a shape and design that is unmistakably and unapologetically ugly in all its glory.
Commenters on the Crocs Instagram page asked “What in the Spongebob ankles is going on here?” Another said “Wearing these on my first date tomorrow,” with others saying “The collab we didn’t know we needed.” One simply stated: “Crocs must be stopped.” Mixed reactions, to say the least.
If the Big Red Boot wasn’t ridiculous enough for you, perhaps this rubber duck yellow pair may be more to your taste. The pair were manufactured by MSCHF, meaning the material and design process were the same as before. It’s not yet clear as to whether this pair will be available to the members of the public daring enough to don, or whether this was more a tongue-in-cheek performance piece reserved solely for the feet of Tommy Cash. If the Big Red Boot hype was anything to go by, then the Big Yellow Boot sequel has some pretty big shoes to fill.
