Julia Fox opens up about controversial fashion choices: “There’s more to life than pleasing men”

The star caused controversy over the weekend with her extremely low-rise trousers.

Over the weekend, Julia Fox stepped out in a typically striking outfit, and it was her extremely low-rise trousers that caught the attention of everyone online. Yesterday, the Uncut Gems star opened up about her controversial fashion choices, explaining she doesn’t do it for the approval of men.

“There’s more to life than chasing an impossible beauty standard projected onto me by insecure celebrities for the ultimate goal of pleasing men,” she said in an Instagram story defending her outfit, adding that people who don’t understand it are “mentally lazy.”

The actress also reposted a TikTok praising her fashion choices as well explaining that she had to “shave around” her Liza Keane trousers to avoid showing off more than intended. She also said there was only “one hook” holding up her trousers which were paired with a Kardashian-esque upside-down black bikini top.

Despite the serious tone of her stories, Fox poked fun at herself over the weekend after users online pointed out the insanely low-rise trousers, which made the actress look eerily similar to a centaur. In retaliation she posted an edit to her Instagram in which she was in fact a centaur, topping it off with the caption which simply said: “sleigh”.
