THE TRENDS

“I’ve noticed a lot of color coming back in the world of eyeshadow recently. An 80s update I’ve been trying a lot lately is a sheer wash of a bright color like yellow or pink, either on its own or topped with a gloss. One of my favorite ways to achieve this look is by using Huda Beauty’s Obsessions Palette in Coral layered with a Chanel Lip Gloss, which surprisingly doubles as an amazing lid gloss.”

THE 80s poster girls

“It’s a toss up between Brook Shields and Cindy Crawford. They were both quintessential brunette bombshells, and as an awkward mousy teen they were the epitome of what I wanted to exude as I grew up.”

The essentials

“When it comes to an evening look, I love to play up my hair and my lip color. Paying homage to the vampy reds and bright fuchsias of the 80s using Fenty Beauty’s Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick in Griselda or Chanel’s Rouge Double Intense Liquid Lipstick in Extremely Pink for colors that will last you all night. For my hair I’ll choose volumizing products like Ouai’s Soft Mousse or IGK’s Beach Club texture spray to add a little oomph to curled hair.”

THE #1 RULE (TO BREAK)

“A lot of people think they have to wear foundation if they’re wearing makeup, but that is so far from true! A nice skin cream and a few properly placed dabs of concealer can work wonders. It lets you keep the natural glow of your skin, and helps delay the ageing process that always layering on foundation tends to speed up.”
