HUNGER’s MVP of the week

Welcome to HUNGER’s Most Valuable Player, the place to find the best things to buy, watch, do or listen to each week. Forget about the hype, we want to separate what’s hot, what’s not, and what needs to be on your radar...

First up on this week’s MVP, booze royalty Moët & Chandon are launching the Impérial Coronation Cuvée 2023 Magnum featuring the official emblem of the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty the Queen Consort. To celebrate the coronation, the limited edition bottle will be exclusively available at Clos19 this spring from the 1st of May. A bubbly like no other, the brand is synonymous with royal celebrations, including in the Royal Courts of Europe where it was served at the romantic suppers of Louis XV, as well as in 1893 when it was granted a ‘Royal Warrant’ by HM Queen Victoria. On this historic occasion, get yourself a bottle of Britain’s favourite celebratory tipple – the only champers fit for a King!

Visionary Dutch designer Lucas Ossendrijver is launching the new Theory Project capsule collection exploring the energy of New York City. This comes after Ossendrijver’s debut Fall of 2022 and Spring 2023 collections, and will venture into a new cityscape to celebrate the dynamic spirit it holds. The solutions for everyday living sit in both menswear and womenswear and among muted greys and earthy greens with pops of blue, purple, and red. Utilitarian detailing and custom prints galore, the fluidity of the design is at the forefront of this collection, as they introduce their first-ever sneaker. The edges are tipped with reflective material and finished with a bespoke rubber sole made for sauntering the city streets. Swapping the stiffness of tailoring for a relaxed and flowing style of silhouette, the collection is now available online and in stores, and you can buy your own urban-exploration uniform here

This month, Elton John has announced a series of pop-ups across Europe for the launch of his new eyewear collection  – and the London one is now open at Bicester Village! With 75 different styles, the global icon frames bear the name of his greatest songs and moments throughout his illustrious career, with the likes of ‘Starlight’, ‘Honky Cat’, and ‘Bombshell’ being standouts. In true Elton John style, the shop is decked out to the nines, complete with merch, rainbow wallpaper, and mannequins dressed in some of his most recognisable fits. 10% of the proceeds from the pop-ups will also be donated to the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Only until the 1st of May, the chance is now to get sunnies designed by the icon himself! Or, peruse online for your perfect pair.

‘It’ girls unite! Peachy Den has just dropped their Lucky Stars collection this week. Known for its staple wardrobe essentials, the slow fashion brand has reimagined your day-to-night summer looks with lacy camis, checkered shirts, and dainty capris. Not only do their designs ring reminiscent of prime 00s Hollywood, each silhouette is also named after a Playboy bunny. The Marty sleeves are a grunge interpretation of ballet core, the Pam mini skirt is paparazzi coffee-run ready, and the Betsey top is a 2000s layering dream. So whichever bunny you choose this Peachy Den drop, don’t wear yourself out, as further drops are promised to follow. Pick your pieces online here

This April, Damson Madder has launched its new pieces perfect for the upcoming sunny season. In these bright floral iterations, the sustainable brand has released the Pia: a strapless baby-pink dress that swings just below the knee, with blue hemming and a tied bow at the top. A puff-sleeved alternative, named the Jacqui, with a square neckline, sits as a dress over a pair of matching print shorts, both in pastel blue with blush roses all over. With three bows to tie the top with, function meets elegance with your new favourite tea party fit. And summer weddings are a woe no more, as the two green pieces include a wraparound dress and short-sleeved, oversized suit as your new go-to. With all sorts of mixing and matching potential, this summer’s suitcase will remain lightweight with all you need sitting in Damson Madder’s newest releases. Get your hands on them here

Finally on this week’s MVP, the new The North Face drop in collaboration with TNF X throws back to some retro stylings from the brand. Tying back to the collection that launched in 1992, this updated take on athletic lifestyle gear combines staple pieces with a streetwear aesthetic – marking itself as the go-to for the modern explorer. Taking from the landscape of the city and its outskirts, the colours range from night-time hazes to warm hues as they reimagine outdoor apparel with an infusion of design technology. A standout of the collection has to be the reintroduction of the TNF X jacket, the 92 Retro Cap, and the VECTIV Taraval Tech. Gorpcore summer is upon us, and to get the latest drop just head to The North Face stores or order on their site
