Hot or not: Prada is the world’s hottest brand as Balenciaga officially falls from grace

Lyst Index has revealed the brand stats for this season’s hottest fashion label, and Prada has taken home the top spot. For the second consecutive season, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons remain in first place, with Miuccia’s other label Miu Miu in second at the highest ranking the brand has seen so far.
After cementing itself as the cult ‘It’ girl go-to and producing a showstopping FW23 runway, Prada is knocking all others aside. They are followed by Moncler in third place, who hasn’t moved since last year, whilst Valentino comes in at fourth followed by Loewe. Subsequently, we see Bottega Venetta, Dolce & Gabanna, and Versace – the latter of which has seen one of the biggest growths of the season thanks to the star-studded FW23 runway just before the Oscars in LA.
But in sadder news for some of fashion’s fave brands, Gucci has fallen seven places into ninth place following the departure of Creative Director Alessandro Michele, despite being the top brand on several occasions previously. Then comes Saint Laurent who remain steadfast in their tenth position for another year, with Dior, Nike, Louis Vuitton, Diesel, Burberry (thanks to Daniel Lee), and Fendi following.
SKIMS officially makes its Lyst debut as Balenciaga is knocked seven places into the eighteenth spot. Due to the controversy the brand has faced this year, with the brand’s ‘Gift Shop’ ad campaign featuring SCOTUS child porn documents and teddy bears in BDSM, it is no surprise the brand is falling lower in the rankings.
But rounding off twentieth place is JW Anderson, who is the third Creative Director to be in Lyst Index’s Hottest Brand over the same quarter, following in the footsteps of Virgil Abloh and Miuccia Prada.
