First images of Evan Peters as Jeffrey Dahmer in new Netflix series have been released

‘Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story’ will follow the life of the serial killer and sex offender in a 10-episode series.

Netflix has revealed a teaser poster showing Evan Peters as serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer from the upcoming series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

The 10-episode series will follow the life and atrocities of the famed killer, but will be largely told from the victims’ perspectives. The show is co-created by Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story) and Ian Brennan (The Politician)

As reported by Deadline, the series will also focus on the “police incompetence and apathy that allowed the Wisconsin native to go on a multiyear killing spree”. Alongside the poster, a 10-second teaser has also been shared online, showing a brief eerie close-up of Peters’ Dahmer.

Speaking to Variety about preparing for the role of Dahmer, Peters said: “I’ve read so much, I’ve watched so much. I’ve seen so much, and at a certain point, you’ve got to say, ‘All right, that’s enough.’ There are beautifully written scripts. You can have all the backstory you want, but at the end of the day we’re not making a documentary.”

Dahmer was one of the world’s most prolific serial killers who was convicted of killing 17 men and boys between the years of 1978 and 1991, with some of his crimes even involving cannibalism. He died in 1994 at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Wisconsin after being killed by fellow inmate, Christopher Scarver.

There is no release date set for Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story but it is expected to debut on Netflix later this year.
