Do you have what it takes to be the next Andy Sachs? Vogue is offering a ‘Devil Wears Prada’ assistant position

The fashion publication is recruiting a fashion-forward assistant to work with Anna Wintour.

Want to live out your Devil Wears Prada fantasy? This could be the job for you. Vogue is hiring an assistant to their editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, with a job description that offers insight into the world of fashion’s top dog.

Publishing house Condé Nast posted a job listing with the following description: “This is a critical role in supporting the Global Chief Content Officer and the Executive Assistant to the Global CCO. They will assist with the administration and coordination of meetings, events/engagements, special projects, and overall flow of communication and information through the Global CCO’s office.  The successful candidate will be extremely organized, efficient, deadline-oriented, and able to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, matrixed, digital media environment.  This is a tremendous opportunity for an ambitious, business-savvy professional who is passionate about culture, fashion, digital media, and content.”

The role is rather similar to that of Anne Hathaway’s character Andrea Sachs in the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada, and despite a meticulous description of what they are looking for, our minds can’t help but run away with the promise that this may be the movie brought to life. With the requirements of a college education, one to two years of work experience in administrative support, and strong writing skills, one also feels there may be more essential skills that will be added to the mix. Perhaps picking up a copy of the unreleased seventh Harry Potter novel? Or know the difference between turquoise, lapis, and cerulean?

With a salary range of $60,000 to $80,000, many are already drawing comparisons to the cult-fashion character Miranda Priestly and her nightmarish ways. “A million girls would kill for this job!” one user tweeted.
