Chloé confirms departure of creative director Gabriela Hearst

The Uruguayan designer’s last show for the label will come this September.

Following months of speculation, Chloé has confirmed that its creative director, Gabriela Hurst, was leaving the French house following a three-year tenure.

A statement released on Thursday revealed that the women’s wear collection scheduled to be shown on September 28th during Paris Fashion Week would be her last for the brand.

Hearst, a Uruguay-born designer of women’s ready-to-wear and accessories, founded her namesake luxury label in New York in 2015 before joining Chloé in December 2020.

“Gabriela has brought great energy and a dynamic creative vision to her role at Chloé, contributing to a period of significant progress for the business, and writing a powerful new chapter in the story of our maison,” Ricardo Bellini, the brand’s CEO, said in a statement. “I look forward to the presentation of the SS24 collection as the culmination of her Chloé journey, which will be a celebration of joy and creativity. I wish her much success and happiness as she focuses on her next creative endeavour.”

In her role as creative director of Chloé, Hearst followed in the footsteps of a number of prestigious designers, including Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, Clare Waight Keller, Phoebe Philo and, most recently, Ramsay-Levi.
