Angus Cloud: ‘Euphoria’ cast, Drake, Gigi Hadid and Billie Eilish lead tributes

Last night, the entertainment world was stunned by the sudden death of Euphoria star Angus Cloud, at just 25-years-old, and tributes have since been pouring in for the actor. The family of Cloud, who played fan favourite Fezco O’Neill on HBO’s hit series, confirmed the news in a statement shared Monday (31st July).

“It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways. Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

A cause of death has yet to be disclosed.

US model Gigi Hadid also remembered Cloud after they starred together in a 2022 Christmas campaign for Ralph Lauren Fragrances.

Sharing a clip of the pair dancing for the campaign on her Instagram Story, Hadid wrote: “Just saw the news about the loss of Angus. I only got to work with him a couple of times, but I was immediately drawn to his kind, gentle spirit.”

Billie Eilish also paid tribute to the star, sharing an image of Cloud on her Instagram story.

In a statement shared with outlets, Euphoria director Sam Levinson said: “There was no-one quite like Angus. He was too special, too talented and way too young to leave us so soon. He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. I loved him. I always will. Rest in peace and God Bless his family.”

Euphoria cast members Javon Walton and Storm Reid, who played Ashtray and Gia respectively, also took to the internet to react to the news. Walton posted a photo with Cloud on his Instagram Story, describing his late co-star as “forever family.” 

Reid shared a clip from the show of Fez laughing on her Instagram Story, captioning it, “the tears just won’t stop.” 

Alexa Demie, who played Maddy, also posted a broken-heart emoji on her story. 

Colman “Couldn’t be more real, original and sweet,” Colman Domingo, who starred as Ali, captioned a photo shared on his Instagram Story. “Loved this kid. Always smiles. I hope this sensitive soul is at rest. Check on loved ones. Check on them.”
