Is Rihanna capable of losing? It doesn’t seem like it, does it? The megastar is a billionaire, one of the most adored celebs out there, a fashion icon, and a musical legend (although, a new album would be great sometime, RiRi). Now, the star is adding another string to her bow, as she’s just been announced as the new face of Dior’s classic J’Adore fragrance.
“The scent, that I have known and loved for so long, means so much to women,” Rihanna said in a statement. “I am especially looking forward to joining this adventure and contributing to it through my world, my story, my roots, as well as my creativity and my own femininity.”
The power move by the French brand coins the Fenty boss as the first Black woman and second act to sport the role, following Charlize Theron’s 20-year tenure as the face of the brand coming to an end.
“The unusual talent, audacity, and captivating beauty of this absolute star are the ideal embodiment of dazzling, powerful Dior femininity that transcends generations,” CEO of Parfums Christian Dior, Véronique Courtois expressed in the statement. “Her golden dream promises to be unique, reflecting a fragrance that is present for women and retains its radiance.”
To cement the new collab, Dior posted a photo of Rihanna on Instagram with the caption, “Christian Dior is truly delighted to welcome icon Rihanna, whose wide-ranging talents, remarkable beauty and universal appeal now embody the world of J’adore.”
Meanwhile, Rih Rih co-signed the collaboration, writing, “The secret is out,” on X on Tuesday
Rihanna has a long relationship with Dior. Apart from being spotted at several Dior fashion shows, most recently during Paris Fashion Week earlier this year and during her first pregnancy, Rihanna became Dior’s first Black ambassador in 2015.
