Guerlain and Pucci’s collaborative autumn collection is a celebration of colour

The makeup brand has teamed up with the Florence-based fashion house for a second time to give their cosmetics a touch of the Italian dolce vita.

What do the cult makeup brand Guerlain and Italian fashion house Pucci have in common? Notoriety when it comes to colour. Bring together the velvety, crimson hues of a Guerlain lipstick and the vibrant contours of Pucci’s Marmo motif and you get the brands’ collaborative autumn makeup collection. The love child of Camille Miceli, Pucci’s artistic director and Violette Serrat (known simply as Violette), Guerlain’s creative makeup director, the ultra-limited range pays homage to the beauty brand’s most iconic makeup products, while offering a taste of the dolce-vita style that the Florence-based atelier is renowned for.

The Guerlain x Pucci collection itself includes the Rouge G Marmo Kiss lipstick, which comes in a sophisticated plum satin, as well as an extravagant matte red (apt shades for the fruits of Serrat’s extensive colour research). For the eyes, the Ombres G Marmo Vibe eyeshadow quad applies the Pucci-esque tones of orange-red, violet, black and white, while the Terracotta Marmo Sun bronzer combines three shades (Guerlain’s best-selling Terracotta 03 Medium Warm, as well as both cocoa and rose tones) fused together in a Marmo-worthy swirling pattern.

The bronzer is, in fact, a fitting application of the pattern, which took inspiration from the sight of sun rippling on the Mediterranean sea for its design in 1968. The Marmo swirl is, perhaps, best applied within the collection, however, to the final hero products: the Météorites Marmo swirl powder and accompanying brush. While the pastel-toned powder beads combine with the Marmo-print to replicate a box of bonbons, its fabric outer-case acts as a nod to the Italian fashion house’s bucket bag designs, making the set a fashion accessory as much as a beauty one.

As for the rest of the collection, around 10 products in total (including a foundation) are to be expected at the August launch, sitting at a price point of between £35 and £84 each. The products will be AVAILABLE FROM 28th AUGUST 2024 (while stocks last) to buy in the UK from Selfridges, Harrods Beauty, Harvey Nichols, Liberty and Guerlain’s Covent Garden boutique.
