Shygirl knows how to throw a party — just ask Coach

On Friday night, Coach teamed up with Boiler Room and Shygirl for the launch of “Club Shy Room 2” at Archives London. It was the event of the weekend, being livestreamed globally, with Shygirl rocking up in a custom Coach dress, archive jacket and that Tabby bag everyone’s suddenly carrying again.

Who else was in attendance? The usual suspects showed up — Jorja Smith looking effortlessly put-together, Yseult commanding attention, and Sadboi somehow getting past security. Miss Jason went B2B with Hasani, delivering a set that had the room properly moving, while Urumi and Florentino kept the energy high throughout.

The night peaked when Shygirl performed tracks from the EP, showcasing her evolution from underground darling to someone who can now sell out shows without even announcing lineups (the power). It’s all hot on the heels of her stint on Charli XCX’s SWEAT tour, where their “365” remix became something of a moment.

The Archives London space proved the perfect backdrop for the night, with the industrial setting complementing the electronic sounds. The crowd – a mix of industry faces, longtime fans and the fashionably connected – created exactly the kind of atmosphere these launches aim for but rarely achieve — genuinely vibey rather than all stiff and network-y.

Standout tracks from the EP included the bass-heavy opener that had everyone forgetting they were too cool to dance before 11PM, and that midway banger featuring vocals from someone whose name everyone pretended to recognise. By the time the night wrapped at midnight, even the most jaded industry types were secretly Shazam-ing tracks and wondering if Club Shy Room 3 might already be in the works. If last night was anything to go by, we’ll all be pretending we were there when the inevitable follow-up drops.
