Who. What. Where? No. 51

Welcome to HUNGER’s Who. What. Where? Your one-stop shop for all the latest and greatest upcoming events and releases. Whether you’re looking for your next injection of culture or just something to freshen up your wardrobe, you’ll only find the best of it here.

Kicking off this week’s Who. What. Where? is The Beauty Beat – the UK’s only luxury beauty event for Women of Colour. The festival, sponsored by TikTok, will bring together a selection of the world’s most adored beauty brands, including NARS, Lancôme, Aveda, IT Cosmetics and many more. Meanwhile, a number of industry experts will also provide talks featuring the likes of Sabrina Elba, Tolly T, Candice Brathwaite, and Coco Sarel, to name a few. Speaking on the event, The Beauty Beat founder Donna Dia tells HUNGER: “There are, of course, incredible beauty events for all communities, but I was really craving an event that had all the brands I loved, that felt luxurious and premium, that was centrally located and that was also completely focused on centring and celebrating Women of Colour and Black beauty.”  The event will take place from 2nd – 3rd December, with free online tickets available here.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to head down to London’s Drumsheds – the former IKEA warehouse turned raver’s dream – then now’s the chance. The venue has just announced its next set of event partners and headliners for the upcoming SS24 season, featuring the likes of Chase and Status, Craig David’s TS5, The Hydra and many more. Once again representing a broad spectrum of sounds, events will span sonics from DnB to techno, house to hip-hop in the mammoth 15,000-capacity venue. Looking for something a bit different from your Christmas markets? Well, DROOL has got you covered with their “Alternative Art Market: Xmas Edition”. Taking place on December 2nd, visitors will be treated to a complimentary glass of mulled wine as well as hosting giveaways of tote bags filled with prints throughout the day. Meanwhile, the main attraction will be having the opportunity to sift through the works from a multitude of creatives, including Alexander Khbbazi and John Schullisch. DROOL’s Christmassy alternative art market can be enjoyed between 10am – 6pm on December 2nd, and you can find more information here.

Carrying on with the Christmas theme, Langan’s, the iconic Mayfair Brasserie, has partnered with Nyetimber, the world-renowned English sparkling wine, to add a festive touch to the restaurant this winter. From 1st to 30th December, guests will be able to indulge in a series of special dishes, Nyember vintages and immersive entertainment as a nod to the cosy mountain-top cabins and chic luxury resorts of Gstaad. A number of bespoke menus and dishes have been curated by Head Chef Ben Mellor, such as The Christmas Day Menu, which includes dishes of Pithivier of Snails or Fillet of Beef Tartare to start, followed by mains of Shallot Tart Tatin or Roasted John Dory. Meanwhile, a selection of other menus are available, as well as intimate performances and, of course, a Santa’s grotto. For further details and to book your spot, click here.
