Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal swap the court for the slopes in Louis Vuitton’s latest campaign

The two tennis legends are the latest stars to feature in the label’s ‘Core Values’ campaign

Thanks to Challengers, we’ve all got tennis fever – and so do Louis Vuitton. The label’s latest campaign features none other than tennis legends Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. However, Louis Vuitton have taken them well above even the highest of tennis courts, shooting the two icons to Italy’s Dolomite mountain range.

At 3,000m high, Nadal and Federe come together as companions rather than competitors (as they so often were on the court), embarking on a shared ascent – a visual metaphor for their careers which has been marked by deep mutual respect and friendship.

“I know how many important icons have been part of this campaign, so for me personally, being part of it is something that I am very proud of, especially sharing it with Roger – he has been my biggest rival and now a close friend today,” says Nadal.

Meanwhile, Federer echoed that sentiment: “It’s a unique opportunity to be working on this campaign with Rafa. How we could be such rivals and then at the end of our careers be beside each other doing this campaign has been very cool.”

Revered photographer Annie Leibovitz showcases the pair standing tall on the mountain peak peak; Federer with his classic Monogram Christopher backpack, a symbol of timeless style akin to his own legacy in sport, and Nadal with his Monogram Eclipse version representing his dynamic strength and tenacity.
