Starting this week’s Who. What. Where?, we bring you some exciting news for cult shoe fanatics, with the first collab between Timberland and Vans. Dubbed the Vans Skateboarding X Timberland Half Cab Hiker, the footwear gods have joined forces in a series of reimagined shoes that brings skate culture to the classic boot silhouette. In this new expedition, the pieces will hail a combo of Vans canvas and Timberland premium leather, with a ReBOTL lining made from 50% recycled plastic in an effort to reduce landfill. In earth-inspired colourways of black, yellow, khaki and brown, the boot will bring together two subcultures formed off the back of the brands, and imagine a world where the outdoorsy fashion-conscious city-dwellers are stepping in style, just in time for the chilly season.
Having a hard time picking that perfect winter accessory? With Maison Michel’s new FW22 collection, look no further than their treasure trove of felt, PVC, jersey, lace and velvet hats. With a traditional take on the collection, each hat holds the DNA of the brand’s years in artisanal experience, and displays a variety of designs that anchor it in creative innovation. The likes offer a range from stone quartz embellishments, to pearls, taffeta, textured chains and sequins. Buckets and fedoras reign supreme, but with the additions of hoods, turbans and headbands, showcase one of the most exciting hat collections to date.
Continuing the heritage brand glory is Ben Sherman, who have reimagined their modern staples for a new, active consumer. In a capsule collection focused on recycled and sustainable materials, Ben Sherman headed in several different colourways for ‘Heritage in Motion’. The release features a polo shirt, t-shirt, chinos and jacket crafted especially for movement and comfort. The campaign features three freestyle footballers, Andrew Henderson, Mo Omar and Scott Penders, to showcase how versatile their pieces are in keeping a classy foot on the ball, and encouraging the new sporty gen of Ben Sherman-wearers to take on the town.
And finally, in exciting news for the up and coming UK artist Nia Archives, her brand new edit of ‘Burn Dem Bridges’ was released on the 9th of December, detailing a culture clash record from SOS’s AVA Boiler Room set. From her recent BRIT Awards nomination to MOBO 2023 win for ‘Best Electronic/ Dance Act’, the Manchester-raised DJ, producer and vocalist has remixed Skin on Skin’s majorly successful drill x techno track. It’s now taken on a new lease of life in rapid-fire jungle, and has been shared with audiences at her sets much to their delight.
