Sad girls rejoice – Dr. Martens and Girls Don’t Cry have announced a gothic new collaboration, reviving the beloved Ramsey Creeper silhouette with a fresh twist.  The reimagined shoe is built from black smooth leather with a statement Hair On upper and D-ring eyelets and features a smoke wedge platform sole with exaggerated cleating signature Dr. Martens grooving, and the always iconic yellow stitching. Verdy, the founder and designer of Girls Don’t Cry, revealed the collaboration is inspired by his wife and her connection to the British footwear brand. “This is a very special project for me and especially my wife since she used to work at Dr. Martens. I am happy to bring this collaboration to life.” Who said love is dead? Dr. Martens x Girls Don’t Cry is available for purchase on February 29th at girlsdontcryshop.com.

This year, The North Face are paying homage to freeskier Scot Schmidt – who pushed the boundaries of skiwear to create Steep Tech – with Steep Tech RMST. Schmidt was a pioneering freeskier of his time, known for his incredible feats of adventure, and eventually, was sponsored by The North Face, who decked him out in skiwear he pushed to the limit. At first, it began with subtle personalisation and modification to maximise his performance, but resulted in one of the brand’s most boundary-pushing collections. This season, the label reimagines a “tougher, lighter, faster” version of that collection. The standout piece comes in the form of the RMST Stepp Tech GTX Work Jacket. Designed for durability with fully waterproof GORE-TEX fabric, the asymmetrical zipper style features an adjustable and removable hood, fully bonded seams, and a range of pocket and zip features reminiscent of the original Scot Schmidt Steep Tech Designs. The North Face Steep tech collection is available to purchase online now.

Next up, Birkenstock are celebrating their archives with the release of the Zürich Tech, a tribute to the timeless Zürich silhouette, which first released 60 years ago, back in 1964. Inspired by utility and innovation, this iteration of the closed sandal is engineered for comfort and agility. Taking notes from winter sports, the classic Birkenstock buckle is replaced by a monochromatic, adjustable black buckle to add an extra level of customisation and makes for a winning combination of form and function. The Zürich Tech launches in three colourways – Black, Antique White and Elemental – and is now available to shop here

Following its holiday takeover at Saks Fifth Avenue, Christian Dior is continuing its love affair with New York, announcing a catwalk in the Big Apple for its women’s pre-fall 2024 collection on April 15th. The show will take place at the Brooklyn Museum as a tribute to the “unwavering ties forged between Dior and the United States from the very beginning of the house,” explained Dior in a statement. The collection, designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, the artistic director of women’s haute couture, ready-to-wear and accessories collections, will celebrate the founding couturier’s passion “for the fascinating American metropolis,” as well as reaffirming the “symbolic and powerful alliance” uniting Dior and the Brooklyn Museum. Revisiting Christian Dior’s iconic autobiography, the collection aims to embody the chapter of his life in which the lauded designer visited Paris and New York, identifying what makes each style capital so unique and inspiring. As such, Chiuri looks to two key prints for this collection, depicting the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower. Equally inspired by actress Marlene Dietrich, the collection draws on her unique presence and “boyish charm”, characterised by tailored suits and silhouettes that are traditionally masculine, but with a twist.
