Trade the underground for Italian landscapes with Belmond’s ‘Travel With Pride’

Featuring performances from Horse Meat Disco and Purple Disco Machine, this journey should be a little more enjoyable than the tube.

Let’s be honest, nobody likes trains: from sweaty carriages to decade-old seats, the grotesqueness of them is endless. But Belmond’s ‘Travel With Pride’ is throwing that presumption out the window.

Boarding in Paris, guests will have the chance to step onto the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, a Belmond train, Europe, for a celebration of self-expression and the LGBTQ+ community, featuring a whole host of talent – and not the kind you’d find on the tube on a Friday night.

Taking place on the 2nd November, the annual journey supports UK trans-led charity Not A Phase and will see the train’s iconic carriages transformed into a flamboyant party venue. Horse Meat Disco and Purple Disco Machine will also be spinning the decks, keeping the energy pumping until the early hours of the morning.

Boarding in Paris and concluding in Venice, the journey will also include a four-course meal curated by Michelin-starred chef Jean Imbert before performances begin and cocktails are poured in the Bar Car ‘3674’.

For the morning after – when there’ll probably be a few sore heads – a continental breakfast will be served as the train travels through the picturesque Italian landscape before the carriages arrive in Venice on November 3rd.

So, if you’re looking to trade in the dusty (potentially bed bug ridden) seats on the underground for something grander, tickets are available here
