Skydiamond launches the world’s first sustainable diamond brand

To mark Earth Day, Skydiamond has launched the world’s only truly sustainable diamonds, which are available to purchase now in Selfridges. Marking an exciting new era for the jewellery industry, Skydiamond mines the sky for gems, not the earth, ensuring that their jewels are free from environmental exploitation and conflict.

Unlike diamonds that are mined from the earth, Skydiamonds are completely ethical and carbon neutral by design. It has taken the team over five years to perfect their revolutionary process, which mines the sky for atmospheric carbon and turns it into real diamonds at their UK-based facility, using renewable energy. Created by environmentalist, Dale Vince OBE, it was conceived as a way to remove carbon from the sky, reducing the damage caused by our CO2 emissions.

Supermodel Lily Cole and legendary photographer Rankin came together to celebrate this landmark environmental achievement with a photoshoot that highlights Skydiamonds.
