Pillow Talk: Fashion influencer Adrienne Reau’s night-time routine

Style star Adrienne Reau dishes on all things sleep...

Remember Cher’s incredible virtual wardrobe in Clueless? Well, there’s definitely a feel of that in Adrienne Reau’s content on Instagram and TikTok. Whether she’s channelling Bella Hadid, making Coachella predictions, or dressing like different types of cheese, this is one influencer who isn’t afraid to be playful, bold, and bang on-trend.

The 25-year-old first got into the world of online fashion influencing after she was laid off from her job performing on a cruise ship during the Covid-19 lockdown, and she hasn’t looked back since. Now boasting over 70,000 followers on Instagram alone, Adrienne’s channels provide a constant stream of fashion inspiration that takes as much from the future as the Y2K resurgenceShe’s one to follow for sure.

Here, HUNGER catches up with the influencer on everything style and sleep.

Sum up what you do in five words?

I’m a fashion content creator!

Your fashion content is insane — how do you keep creative when it comes to styling fits?

Aw, thank you. Well, if you scroll through my TikToks, you’ll find that I will literally take inspiration from anything! Cheese, coffee, cartoon characters, podcasts, paintings, anything!

What do you do when you’re in a style rut?

This happens constantly, I usually just go shopping lol.

Who are your current inspirations/influences?

It’s always Bella Hadid, Devon Carlson, Emma Chamberlain, and all my cute online fashion friends.

How would you describe your aesthetic right now?

I swore I would never be a neutrals girl, but I’m digging neutrals right now. I would say Pinterest cool girl meets Bratz doll soccer player?? Lol.

On a scale of 1 – 10, how much do you love your sleep?

You know what, I shockingly am not a huge sleeper. I wake up hella early, go to bed hella late, and I don’t drink coffee/tea/energy drinks, yet I’m always full of energy. Plus I’m a very light sleeper, anything will wake me up.

What time would you ideally like to go to bed, as opposed to what time you really end up in bed?

Ideally, 11 pm, but I’m up till 3 am almost every night lol.

What’s your usual reason for going to bed late? Work… scrolling through Instagram?

Yeah usually scrolling or watching YouTube videos, unfortunately.

What side of the bed do you sleep on?

Right side baby!

What kind of sleeping position do you normally find yourself in?

I am a fetal or back sleeper myself. I simply do not trust stomach sleepers… Doesn’t your neck hurt? How can you breathe?!

What is your bed setup?

I have a super thick mattress with a ton of pillows and fleece blankets. I hate being underneath my sheets or comforter, I’d rather sleep on top and be swallowed by fuzzy blankets.

Light sleeper or heavy sleeper?

Super light :/

Morning bird or night owl?

Both!

How do you unwind before bed?

I always shower at night, do my skincare, dental routine, and chug water. I try to end the night by manifesting and writing down what I’m grateful for but I don’t like journaling so I’ve been slacking lately. Then I usually dim the lights and fall asleep watching YouTube.

Do you read before bed? If so, what can’t you get enough of at the moment?

No LOL. ~ I tried but I hAtE rEaDiNg ~

What products/items are on your bedside table?

My apartment is too small for a bedside table 🙁

What’s the weirdest thing next to your bed?

A convex traffic mirror.

Do you sleep with your phone next to you?

I put it on the floor so the radio frequencies don’t penetrate my brain even more than they already do.

What can’t you go to sleep without doing?

Putting my retainer in!

Do you always take off your makeup before sleeping?

Oh, always!!! No doubt.

Favourite way to remove your makeup?

In the shower with my makeup removing cleanser. I hate washing my face at the sink, it makes such a MESS!

How does your nighttime routine change on Friday / the weekend?

It’s the same, I’m just wobbling while I do it on the weekends 😉

Can you walk me through your nighttime skincare routine?

It changes every single night. Probably a bad idea, but I have hundreds of products I wanna try!

Favourite products to use before bed?

I just got the Laneige Moisturising Water Bank Moisture Cream and it makes my skin feel like milk. So I’ll say that.

What do you do if you can’t sleep?

Call me crazy but I pretend I’m a sleeping instructor and I play these sleeping games, like counting, holding different sleeping positions, and playing breathing games. It’s so weird but works lmao.
