Embrace cyborg chic with Gentle Monster’s latest techno-inspired eyewear

It’s that time of year when the sun comes out and the techno tent sees some blinding shapes being thrown – but no move is too heavy with South Korean brand Gentle Monster’s new eyewear collection on the scene.
This is the second drop of the label’s ‘BOLD’ collection and comprises of this season’s hottest summer silhouettes, including goggle-style bug-eyed lens frames. With metallic accents and face-hugging designs, the THUG CLUB collab iterates a TECHNO-01 design. Their collaborative partners are no stranger to music-inspired apparel, often drawing influence from hip-hop attitude and garnering fans like Central Cee.

For this campaign, the brands have embraced 90s Rotterdam hardcore gabber culture, which is a style of electronic dance music and subgenre of hard techno. The subcultural inspiration transpires into the lenses, which evidently, stay on even in the hardest of dance songs. Shot by the acclaimed Dutch photographer Ari Versluis, the new era of cyborg eyewear is upon us.
This second ‘BOLD’ drop will be on Gentle Monster’s site and in their stores on the 28th of April, just in time for you to get your hands on a pair this summer.
