Elon Musk launches new $100 perfume that smells like Burnt Hair

The Tesla founder revealed sales of the fragrance have already reached $1m.

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk is dipping his toes into the fragrance world with the launch of his very own perfume dubbed, Burnt Hair.

The Tesla founder is the latest celebrity to launch their own beauty product, following in the footsteps of the likes of Brad Pitt and Hailey Bieber. Earlier this week, Musk took to Twitter to announce the launch, revealing an image of a red perfume bottle. “Coming soon from the Boring Company,” he wrote in the caption.

“With a name like mine, getting into the fragrance business was inevitable – why did I even fight it for so long!?” Musk joked. He describes the scent to be “the finest fragrance on earth,” while the official product page reads, “Just like leaning over a candle at the dinner table, but without all the hard work.”

A bottle of Burnt Hair will set you back $100 but that didn’t stop fans from purchasing the perfume in their droves — with Musk revealing that more than 20,000 bottles were sold. “Please buy my perfume, so I can buy Twitter,” he wrote, followed by the tweet, “Can’t wait for media stories tomorrow about $1m of ‘Burnt Hair’ sold.”

Earlier this year, Musk struck up a deal to purchase Twitter for $44bn but later submitted a termination of the deal, resulting in lawsuits from both parties. However, he recently decided to move forward with the deal once more.
