Amber Heard responds to Johnny Depp’s Tik Tok message asking his fans to “move forward”

Johnny Depp has amassed 7.6 million TikTok followers less than two days after joining the social media site.

Johnny Depp recently joined Tik Tok and in his first post wrote a message to fans pledging to “move forward” following his high profile defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard.

On Tuesday (7th June), Depp shared a video compilation of footage from his recent UK concerts with Jeff Beck. In the caption, he wrote: “To all of my most treasured, loyal and unwavering supporters. We’ve been everywhere together, we have seen everything together.”

“We have walked the same road together. We did the right thing together, all because you cared. And now, we will all move forward together.” Depp continued: “You are, as always, my employers and once again I am whittled down to no way to say thank you, other than just by saying thank you. So, thank you. My love & respect, JD.”

Heard has now hit back against Depp. In a statement sent to People, a spokesperson for Heard, 36, responded to the video by saying: “As Johnny Depp says he’s ‘moving forward’, women’s rights are moving backward. The verdict’s message to victims of domestic violence is… be afraid to stand up and speak out.”

Despite Heard’s allegations of abuse throughout the six-week trial, which took place on camera, the jury found that a column she wrote for The Washington Post about domestic violence was defamatory and awarded $10.35m (£8.2m) in damages to Depp, even though the article did not name him.

Since his legal victory, Depp has been spotted on multiple occasions around the UK, including spending time with Sam Fender in a Newcastle pub.
